Freyja is Njord's daughter, and sister to Freyr. She is originally from Vanaheim, and lives in Asgard after the Aesir-Vanir War. She is Head of the Valkyrie and High Priestess. She has 2 cat companions, Beegul and Treegul that pull her chariot.
Freyja represents and personifies, and is the source of what is known as divine inspiration, perspective, and insight as it relates to Odur. Odur being "divine madness", meaning the obsession, desire, love, lust for one's soul mate.
Features to include when drawing:
- Red hair, waist length
- Green eyes
- Pale skin
- Always wears the necklace Brísingamen – noticeable, gold but not gaudy with green amber or emerald jewels
- Sensual, classy, sexy
- High contrast colors
- Wears a falcon feather cloak
- Main warrior class weapons and armor – head of the Valkyrie
- Winged helmet if requested
- Has 2 large cats – Norwegian Forest Cats for example; one should be honey color (Beegul) and the other should be amber color (Treegul)
- Freyja represents the pursuit of Odur (love, passion, obsession)
- Colors: Red, black, white - Splash color = red
Odur is sometimes literally named as Freyja's husband, which can be the personification of "Freyja's love" or "Freyja's obsession".
Freyja is featured in the children's books Norse Mother's Tales: Freyja's Fat Cat and Norse, of Course: The Roots of Yggdrasil.
